This month we will explore how to give balanced feedback to a child. By applying Framework tools, we will practice ways to support a child when they have done well or need to hone a skill or change a behavior.
While praise and encouragement are good, honest feedback is required for children to develop a healthy sense of self and exhibit a willingness to grow.
When we are too effusive, children can become self-engoldening and judgmental of those around them. When all we do is point out where a child could improve, or we are critical of their progress or abilities, a child may feel inadequate and not strive to reach their unique potential.
In honing your Framework tools, you will be better able to apply them effectively with the children in your life.
Feel free to bring your stories from the field and your questions.
